A range of emerging strategies and phytotherapeutics being employed to mitigate the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance will be emphasized. Factors such as general availability of these products, their efficacy, adverse effects, and associated costs will be discussed. Their mechanisms of action, any challenges associated with use, as well as host, consumer and environmental impacts will also be reviewed.
